Keeping it Wide-Eyed!

MS999

Hey All!

We’re keeping it lyrical at the moment and had the opportunity to work with Michele Stodart of ‘The Magic Numbers’ Fame – Michele recently finished the mastered album at Metropolis in West London. The album is due out later this year but she needed to get her promos sorted out and delivered in ridiculously quick fashion! A day, an hour, all is possible in 24-7DVDland and we were happy to get involved, ensuring that all delivered on time!
Mmmm maybe next time we can try and get Michele to put on an impromptu live & unplugged session in our foyer – now THAT would be cool…

Vinyl is still so cool…

records

Hey there, MMB one of your resident 24-7DVDers here…
It’s been a hectic and crazy 29-day month and one of the reason is because we’ve been doing tons and tons of music on CD! Despite the prevalence of files formats and the like the humble CD still seems to add value by it’s mere ‘physical presence’. Yet as cool as CD’s were, are & will be they pale in significance with the daddy of the cool and we’ve been doing more and more of that too – what am I talking about I hear you all cry en masse… VINYL BABY, VINYL!!!
The true audio connosseurs among you never gave up on the smoothest of the smooth but it now seems that in an age of perfectly cloned mp3’s with variable bitrates and assorted compressions the Average Joe is turning his attention back to a format with an enigmatic balance of smoothness and spirit. Even though singles continue to fall albums are picking up the slack and keeping the format buzzing with a 6 year high in vinyl sales in 2011.
Here at 24-7DVD we’re quite happy to wax lyrical about the old school media (I’ll be waxing lyrical about VHS soon – we do that too but this is an audio day;) and we’ve had to get in on the act and knock out some titles too. There’s a feeling here that the old analogue formats are gonna be enjoying a renaissance so watch this space….

Bamboo Too…

It seems as though wood and more specifically Bamboo may be the new tech material of choice in 2012 – a new mobile designed by a student named Kieron Scott-Woodhouse, from Shepherds Bush in London (we mention this because he’s from our part of town – rock on West London! – so to speak…) has created the ‘ADzero’ an Android based mobile with a Bamboo shell that makes it super light and a ring flash for improved illumination (and undoubtedly increased stylishness). Originally designed for the Chinese market it looks like the Adzero will be heading to the UK later this year…

Check out our own latest use of wood as the material of choice here- USB’s, MobileĀ  Phones , stay tuned for some info on wood based packaging later this month…

Nursery Rhymes from a gentler time!

NurseryRhymes

We’ve been revisiting our youth recently which coincides nicely with the DVD & CD launch of ‘The Classic Nursery Rhymes Collection’ which we recently replicated.

Your resident 24-7er happened to be walking through the office when I suddenly had a ‘lost – esque’ flashback and realised that the DVD and CD on a colleagues desk was in fact the same one that was used to pacify me and then used by myself to pacify my younger siblings, bulky VHS tapes, Farah Jeans & Rubiks Cubes spring to mind.

The collection has been re-released on DVD for the entertainment of a new generation and it seems that the classics can still work their magic!

Running Around All Over the Place…

alliance

Us 24-7ers are suffering a little in these cold times and so some of us have decided to get on the bike again and make a renewed commit to the training they promised themselves they would be doing on Jan 1st…

So in the spirit of a new year and new adventure I thought it would be a great idea to showcase one of our smaller but ever so cooool releases by presenting Fallen Idol and their recent Blu-ray/DVD release Alliance: A free running film. Lovingly shot and edited over two years with thrilling free running footage and a pumping soundtrack.

We authored the simultaneous Blu-ray & DVD production and some of the High Definition action had our techies oohing and ahhing at the sheer audacity of some of these guys – it’s one way to get the blood pumping – if you don’t fancy the more sedate bike ride…
