1 2 3 PRINT
At 1.2 millimeters, DVDs are the same thickness as CDs, with the main difference being that DVDs are made up of two 0.6 millimeter substrates bonded together. This allows for a greater rigidity in DVDs over CDs, meaning less 'wobble' occurs when they are spinning and as a result greater reliability for the laser reading.

DVDs are available in four component 'flavours' which can be combined in any number of ways to produce your final product. Each configuration has a different designation, which roughly equates to the storage available. DVD-18 is the official designation for a Double-Sided, Dual-Layered 12 cm DVD. DVD-18 has a total storage of 15.91 Gigabytes, which equates to an average run time of 480 minutes, or 240 minutes per side.
As a double-sided disc, the primary print option is a text only ring near the inner edge of the hub. Please contact our sales team for more information.

DVD-18s have been quite rare in the past, primarily due to various difficulties in the production process - it was much simpler and therefore cheaper to produce two DVD-9s than it was to produce one DVD-18.

A lot of these issues have been corrected, and more DVD-18s are reaching the marketplace, especially in the US where it has become the popular format for TV Shows which now come on half the number of discs they used to.
