Macrovision ACP, offers protection against the analogue 'hole' in DVD players, which allows people to make relatively high quality copies off DVDs via the analogue outputs on the back of set top players (Scart, S-Video, Composite and Component outputs).
Since its introduction, Macrovision has protected over 4.5 billion DVDs worldwide for Hollywood and other rights owners. Macrovision have worked with nearly all manufacturers of DVD Players, Drives and Recorders to ensure full support for their Analogue Copy Protection system.

The license to include ACP on your DVD is made between yourselves and Macrovision, who will give you a cost depending on the volume you intend to produce.
ACP Technology is applied by 24-7 DVD during the authoring process. If you are supplying a DVD Master for Replication, you must enable Macrovision protection before building your AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS.
24-7 DVD recommends Type-2 protection. Any DVD Masters with either CSS or Macrovision must be supplied on DLT Tape. |
